What are the wearing parts of concrete power trowel?

The consumable parts of the concrete trowel are parts that are easily worn or damaged during normal use. The following are some common consumable parts:
1. Trowel blade
– Wear cause:
The trowel blade is a part that is in direct contact with the concrete surface. During the working process, due to the continuous friction with the concrete, the blade edge is easily worn. And when facing a rough concrete surface or concrete containing hard particles, the wear rate will be faster. For example, if there are unmelted ice or large sand particles in the newly poured concrete, the wear of the blade will be aggravated.
– Impact and replacement:
When the blade is worn, the trowel effect will deteriorate, and the flatness and finish of the ground will be reduced. Generally speaking, when the blade edge wears more than a certain degree (such as more than 2-3 mm) or there are obvious gaps or deformations, it needs to be replaced. When replacing the blade, make sure that the specifications of the blade match the trowel model and that it is firmly installed.
2. Bearing
– Wear cause:
When the trowel is working, the bearing needs to withstand the radial and axial forces generated by the rotation of the trowel blade. At the same time, since there may be impurities such as dust and concrete particles entering the bearing in the working environment, the bearing wear will be aggravated. Moreover, long-term high-speed operation will also cause fatigue wear of the bearing.
– Impact and replacement:
The worn bearing will not run smoothly and make abnormal noises. In severe cases, the trowel blade of the trowel machine will not rotate normally, affecting work efficiency. If the bearing is found to be faulty, it should be replaced in time to ensure the normal operation of the trowel machine.
3. Drive belt (for belt-driven trowel machines)
– Cause of wear:
During the working process, the drive belt needs to transmit power to drive the trowel blade to rotate. Due to long-term friction, stretching and possible overload, the belt is prone to wear. For example, when the trowel machine encounters greater resistance, if the motor continues to output power, the belt will bear greater tension and accelerate wear.
– Impact and replacement:
The worn belt will slip, making the speed of the trowel blade unstable, affecting the trowel quality. At the same time, excessive belt wear may cause breakage, making the trowel machine unable to work. Generally, the need for replacement is determined by observing whether the surface of the belt has cracks, wear and thinning, etc.
4. Engine spark plug (for fuel engine trowel)
– Wear cause:
Spark plugs play a key role in the combustion process of the engine. As the number of uses increases, the electrodes of the spark plugs will gradually wear and the gap between the electrodes will become larger. In addition, carbon deposits in the combustion chamber will also adhere to the spark plugs, affecting their normal operation.
– Impact and replacement:
When the spark plugs are worn, the engine may have problems such as difficulty in starting, lack of power, and poor fuel economy. It is generally recommended to replace the spark plugs according to the mileage or time interval specified in the engine's instruction manual to ensure good engine performance.
