Can self-leveling cement repair concrete floors?
September 11, 2023
Self-leveling cement is a special concrete material with the characteristics of strong fluidity, high strength, low shrinkage and high density. Therefore, it can be used to repair cement floors, but there are some issues that need to be paid attention to.
First of all, for cement floors that are not seriously damaged, you can clean the floor first, and then use an appropriate amount of self-leveling cement to repair it. Before repairing, you can mix the self-leveling cement with an appropriate amount of water, stir evenly, and then pour it on the damaged floor to allow it to level naturally. After the self-leveling cement dries, you can get a repaired flat floor.
Secondly, for severely damaged cement floors, the damaged floors need to be completely removed first and then repaired with self-leveling cement. Before repairing, the ground needs to be leveled first, using cement mortar or concrete. After leveling, mix the self-leveling cement with an appropriate amount of water, pour it on the ground, and let it level naturally. After the self-leveling cement dries, you can get a repaired flat floor.
It should be noted that the amount of self-leveling cement should not be too much, otherwise it will increase the thickness of the ground and affect its service life. At the same time, the ground needs to be cleaned and leveled before repairing, otherwise the repair effect will be affected.
In short, self-leveling cement can be used to repair cement floors, but it needs to be selected and used according to the actual situation. If used properly, good repair results can be obtained and the service life of the floor can be extended.

How to prevent and deal with concrete laser leveling machine failures to improve equipment reliability?
Concrete laser leveling machine is a key equipment to improve the efficiency and flatness of concrete construction. Its reliability directly affects the progress and quality of the project. Through scientific fault prevention measures and efficient fault handling methods, the reliability of the equipment can be significantly improved. The following is a detailed explanation from the two aspects of fault prevention and fault handling: Prevention is the basis for improving reliability. Through targeted maintenance and standardized operation, the risk of faults can be reduced from the source. Regular inspection and maintenance of key components Laser system: Clean the lens of the laser transmitter and receiver daily to avoid dust and concrete slurry blocking; check the stability of the laser signal weekly, calibrate the horizontal accuracy (using calibration blocks or professional instruments) to prevent construction errors or equipment overloads due to signal deviations. Hydraulic system: Check the hydraulic oil level and oil quality weekly (if emulsification or impurities occur, they must be replaced immediately); clean the hydraulic oil filter element monthly, and replace the hydraulic oil every 500 hours (according to the model required by the equipment manual) to prevent oil contamination from causing wear of the cylinder and pump body. Travel system: Check the tension and wear of the track/tire daily, and clean the concrete lumps between the tracks; lubricate the drive wheel and guide wheel bearings weekly to avoid motor overload due to jamming. Vibration system: Regularly check whether the fixing bolts of the vibration motor are loose and whether the bearings make abnormal noises (add grease every 200 hours) to prevent vibration imbalance from causing structural damage. Standardized operation procedures Operators must be trained before taking up their posts and start (such as preheating the hydraulic system for 3-5 minutes) and shut down (first turn off the vibration, then cut off the laser signal) in strict accordance with the equipment manual. Avoid long-term operation in extreme environments (such as temperature > 40℃, humidity > 90%). When the temperature is high, the heat dissipation of the hydraulic system needs to be strengthened, and the antifreeze hydraulic oil needs to be replaced when the temperature is low. Avoid hard objects such as steel bars and stones during construction to prevent the scraper and vibration plate from colliding and deforming. Storage and idle period maintenance When idle for a long time, clean the concrete residue on the surface of the equipment and apply anti-rust oil (focus on metal connectors and hydraulic rods); Laser transmitters, batteries and other electronic components need to be disassembled and stored in a dry, constant temperature environment, and charged once a month to prevent power loss. Add status monitoring devices Install temperature sensors (monitor hydraulic oil and motor temperature) and pressure sensors (monitor hydraulic system pressure) to warn of abnormal conditions in real time (such as automatic alarm when temperature > 60°C). Add dustproof and waterproof housing (reach IP65 protection level) to the laser system to reduce the impact of environmental factors. Optimize wearing parts Upgrade the scraper material to high-hardness wear-resistant steel (such as quenched 45# steel) to extend service life; The hydraulic pipeline uses a high-pressure hose (working pressure ≥ 25MPa), and a leak-proof seal is installed at the joint to reduce oil leakage failures. Even with good prevention, faults may still occur. Efficient handling can reduce downtime and indirectly improve reliability. Fault type Typical symptoms Processing steps Abnormal laser signal The equipment cannot level itself automatically and displays "signal lost" 1. Check the power supply and position of the laser transmitter for offset; 2. Clean the receiver lens and eliminate obstructions; 3. If the signal is still unstable, replace the transmitter battery or repair the circuit board. Oil leakage in hydraulic system The hydraulic oil level drops and the pipe joints leak oil 1. Stop the machine to check the oil leak point and tighten the loose joints; 2. Replace the damaged seal ring or hose; 3. After adding hydraulic oil, test run to confirm that there is no leakage. Vibration system failure The vibration plate does not work or the amplitude is abnormal 1. Check whether the vibration motor power supply and wiring are loose; 2. Test the motor bearings, and replace the bearings if there is an abnormal sound; 3. Check the hydraulic motor, and repair or replace it if the pressure is insufficient. Travel jam The track/tire moves slowly or deviates 1. Clean foreign matter in the crawler and adjust the tension; 2. Check the output shaft of the travel motor. If it is stuck, disassemble and lubricate or replace the gear box. First check simple causes, then go deeper into complex problems: if the signal is abnormal, check the power supply and cleanliness first, rather than directly dismantling the laser system. Spare parts reserve: Keep vulnerable parts (such as seals, hydraulic oil filters, laser batteries) on site to shorten the waiting time for maintenance. Recording and analysis: Establish a fault ledger to record the time, cause, and treatment of the fault, regularly analyze high-frequency faults (such as monthly statistics), and optimize preventive measures in a targeted manner (such as upgrading the material if a certain component is frequently damaged). Establish equipment life cycle archives: record purchase date, maintenance records, and fault history, provide data support for maintenance, and predict the replacement cycle of vulnerable parts. Regular skills training: Organize training for operators and maintenance personnel every quarter, and update fault handling experience (such as sharing typical cases). Establish a linkage mechanism with manufacturers: For complex faults (such as damage to the laser system circuit board), contact the manufacturer's technical support in a timely manner to avoid secondary damage due to self-repair. To improve the reliability of concrete laser leveling machines, prevention should be the core (daily maintenance + standardized operation + technology upgrade), supplemented by efficient processing (quick response + spare parts reserve + data analysis), and the two should be combined through management mechanisms to form a closed loop of "prevention – processing – optimization", ultimately achieving the goal of reducing equipment failure rate, extending service life, and improving engineering applicability. How to choose the correct concrete laser leveling machine
After nearly ten years of development, the technology of laser leveling machine is gradually mature, and the types and models of the machine are more and more. Now the laser leveling machine on the market is roughly divided into three categories, small, riding type and large telescopic boom type. Choosing the suitable model will get twice the result with half the effort in the construction. In this Shandong Wanshi Machinery small series specially sorted out a few points for attention to buy laser leveling machine, in order to help users away from "being fooled", find a real professional focus on the good brand, good products. First, do not choose low-price e-commerce products, but also consider the comprehensive strength of the enterprise For the current phenomenon and chaos in the laser leveling machine industry, the industry believes that consumers for an enterprise, the ultimate purchase of trust, is a comprehensive consideration. Maybe price is 25 percent of it, but at the end of the day, consumers are looking at the mix. In today's increasingly rational consumption habits, low price can only become a gimmick to attract consumers' attention, the real measure of a enterprise's success or failure or the symbol of the enterprise's product quality, after-sales service and the enterprise's own strong strength. And in the laser leveling machine industry shuffle trend is more and more obvious at present, the terminal is not sufficient, the network is not perfect, the brand is not well-known laser leveling machine enterprises, will face greater pressure. Two, carefully choose the entry-level brand For the concrete laser leveling machine this high-tech products, the quality of the concrete laser leveling machine in addition to technological innovation, there is another important factor, that is, experience. Different models, specifications of laser leveling machine products how to define? How to deal with ground smoothness? Laser emitter how to locate the problem, all need years of long-term accumulation in order to accurately grasp. The user in the choice of laser leveling machine products if the hasty purchase of just entry-level brand products, it is likely to become a "guinea pig", encounter all kinds of trouble. Identifying a brand is as simple as looking at when its patents were registered and looking at real examples from the past. Shandong Wanshi laser leveling machine manufacturers have been committed to the research and development of concrete laser leveling machine for many years, its core components are produced by Germany, the United States and other advanced countries of large manufacturers of products, production process, in strict accordance with national standards, enterprise standards, quality control assurance system for production, Ensure that the quality of products meet or exceed the requirements of enterprise standards and relevant national standards, with excellent quality, excellent performance, superior cost performance to get the trust and praise of users. The advantages of concrete laser leveling machine
Concrete laser leveling machines, also known as laser leveling, are a transformative technology in the construction industry for placing and finishing large, flat concrete slabs. Their advantages are significant compared to traditional manual methods. Here are the key advantages, broken down into categories: Extreme Flatness and Levelness: Laser leveling can achieve tolerances of FF/FL 50 or higher (standard for warehouse floors) and can even reach FF/FL 100 for super-flat floors (e.g., high-rack distribution centers). Manual methods struggle to consistently achieve this. Eliminates Human Error: The machine is guided by a rotating laser plane, ensuring the entire slab is perfectly level to the established grade. This removes the variability and guesswork of manual rodding and screeching. Reduced Curling and Cracking: By delivering immediate, precise consolidation and leveling, they minimize the risk of surface water pooling and create a more uniform slab, which reduces the potential for stress-related cracking and edge curling. Rapid Placement: A single laser leveling can replace 10-20 skilled laborers with hand leveling. It can place and level 150-200+ cubic meters of concrete per hour (depending on the model and site conditions). Earlier Access for Follow-on Trades: Because the slab is placed faster and cures more uniformly, follow-up work like framing or racking installation can often begin sooner, compressing the overall project schedule. Continuous Operation: It can work non-stop as long as concrete is being delivered, preventing costly delays and concrete set-up issues. Reduced Labor Dependency and Cost: It requires a much smaller crew (typically 1 operator and 2-3 helpers for finishing). This is a huge advantage in markets with skilled labor shortages. Lower Long-Term Life-Cycle Costs: The superior flatness reduces wear and tear on forklifts and other equipment, lowers fuel consumption for material handling, and minimizes future maintenance costs for floor toppings or coatings. Optimized Concrete Usage: By precisely controlling the grade, it minimizes over-pouring of concrete, leading to direct material savings. Mechanization of Hard Labor: It automates the most physically demanding tasks of spreading, consolidating, and striking off heavy, wet concrete. Reduced Repetitive Stress Injuries: Less manual raking and screeching means fewer strains, sprains, and long-term injuries for the crew. Improved Site Organization: The faster, more organized process creates a cleaner, less congested work area. High-Frequency Vibration: The leveling head uses rapid vibration to thoroughly consolidate the concrete, removing air pockets and bringing fines to the surface. This results in a denser, more durable surface with higher compressive strength. Ideal Surface for Finishing: The laser-leveled surface is perfectly struck off, providing a uniform starting point for finishers with ride-on trowels, leading to a higher quality finish with less effort. Large Industrial Slabs: Warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing plants. Super-Flat Floors: High-rack storage, robotic fulfillment centers. Big Box Retail: Large stores with minimal floor joints. Parking Decks and Pavements: Where drainage and flatness are critical. High Initial Investment: The machines are expensive to purchase, making them more suitable for rental or for large contracting firms. Setup and Technical Knowledge: Requires proper laser setup and a trained operator. Less Maneuverable in Tight Spaces: Best suited for open areas over 1,000 sq. meters. For very small, complex rooms, traditional methods may still be used. The concrete laser leveling machine is a powerhouse of precision, speed, and efficiency. Its primary advantages are delivering a vastly superior floor flatness at a much faster rate, with less labor and greater long-term value, making it the indispensable standard for modern commercial and industrial concrete flooring.
