    We all know that the finished effect of epoxy flooring is seamless. Therefore, when constructing epoxy flooring, it is necessary to deal with some expansion joints on the concrete floor. No matter how good the quality of the materials used to construct the epoxy floor coating is, after one year, it will experience thermal expansion and contraction. If the original concrete floor cracks, the epoxy floor layer attached to the upper layer will also crack. Therefore, it is even more necessary to handle the expansion joints properly. To avoid project quality disputes. Because we often decorate large areas of workshop floors, our company has accumulated a lot of construction experience, so we also have some methods on how to deal with expansion joints. Today we list these construction plans for your reference. 1.  Fill the expansion joints with epoxy resin mortar material, and then carry out construction according to the original plan we designed for the customer. However, this method cannot guarantee that the floor coating at or near the expansion joint will not crack and peel. Because the epoxy mortar material is inelastic and cannot resist the stress when concrete shrinks and cracks, cracking on the ground cannot be avoided in the end. 2. After the epoxy floor is completed, use a cutting machine to cut a 2-5mm wide expansion joint at the original expansion joint position, then clean up the debris in the joint, and then use an elastic material (such as polyurethane elastic glue) to seal the expansion joint. The seams are filled. During this process, care should be taken to avoid contamination of the outside of the seams with glue. Finally apply the epoxy midcoat and topcoat. The filling of elastic glue needs to be to a certain depth, otherwise the elastic glue may not be firmly attached to the concrete and may detach. Compared with the first method, the second treatment method is that because the elastic glue disperses the stress caused by the shrinkage of the concrete, the possibility of cracking of the coating on the expansion joints is greatly reduced. The overall color of the ground is consistent, but due to the coating on the elastic glue It is still rigid. When the concrete shrinks more severely, the floor coating (middle coat and topcoat) on the elastic glue may crack, but the cracks will not be large. 3. When constructing the floor, try to keep the expansion joints first, cover them immediately, and record the location. Then after the floor painting is completed, cut the expansion joints neatly and make sure the width is above 5mm. It is best to modify them. Make it into a trapezoid shape with a wide top and narrow bottom, then clean the dust and debris in the seam, stick tape on both sides of the seam, use polyurethane elastic glue to fill the gap until it is straight, and remove the tape when the elastic glue is half dry. The third method is often used in electronics factories and pharmaceutical factories that have high requirements for cleanliness and aesthetics. It can basically avoid the cracking of the floor coating at the expansion joints and make the floor more beautiful. Disadvantages of this method: Because the polyurethane elastic material has relatively few colors, it is difficult to achieve the same color as the overall floor coating. 4. Local expansion joints on the ground are often paved with fiberglass cloth to enhance crack resistance. The construction method is: first fill the expansion joints flat with epoxy clay pot slurry material, then apply primer material, and then paste it. Apply 1-2 layers of glass fiber cloth with a width of about 10mm, and then roll-coat the middle coating material, top coating, etc.   This method can not only ensure that the overall color of the ground is consistent, but also resist cracking caused by concrete shrinkage. However, if the design thickness of the floor coating is too thin, it is difficult to operate, and the ground where the application is applied is prone to be higher than other places. Laser itself malfunction: Aging, damage of the laser module or loosening or contamination of internal optical components (such as lenses) can cause the beam to diverge or drift. Unstable reference point: The tripod of the laser emitter is not stably set up and may slightly move or sink under the influence of wind or human touch. Automatic calibration failure: The calibration system of the transmitter with self-leveling function (such as pendulum, magnetic damping or electronic sensor) malfunctions and cannot maintain a stable level reference. Power connection issue: The connection cable between the receiver and the main body of the leveler is loose, poorly connected or damaged. Sensor failure: The photoelectric sensor on the receiver is aged, its sensitivity has decreased, or it is covered with dirt (dust, cement slurry), making it impossible to accurately identify the laser signal. Improper installation: The receiver is not correctly installed on the mast, or there is severe vibration at the installation position, which affects signal reception. Strong light interference: The intense sunlight at noon, especially its infrared spectrum, can interfere with the receiver's recognition of laser signals. Obstruction: Temporary obstructions such as scaffolding, personnel, and equipment at the construction site block the laser beam, causing signal discontinuity. Vibration interference: There are large equipment (such as excavators, heavy trucks) operating nearby, or the laser emitter is set up on a platform with obvious vibration, causing the reference optical path to jitter. Atmospheric disturbance: At super-large construction sites, heat waves caused by high ground temperatures can lead to uneven air density, resulting in slight refraction and jitter of laser beams. Mechanical vibration: If the engine of the Leveling machine operates unsmoothly or the hydraulic system vibrates excessively, the vibration will be transmitted to the receiver, introducing signal noise. Electrical system interference: The generator, frequency converter or high-current circuit of the leveling machine itself generates electromagnetic interference, affecting the sensitive receiver circuit. Follow the principle of "from simple to complex and from outside to inside" in the investigation. Check the power supply: Ensure that the laser emitter is fully charged and all power connections are firm and reliable. Clean and inspect optical components: Use dedicated lens cleaning paper to clean the output lens of the laser emitter and the sensor window of the receiver. Stable reference: Confirm that the laser emitter tripod is firmly set up on a solid floor and kept away from vibration sources. Use counterweights to stabilize the tripod when necessary. Eliminate environmental interference Shading: Install a sunshade on the receiver to prevent direct exposure to strong light. Obstacle clearance: Inspect and clear all possible obstacles along the laser propagation path. Vibration avoidance: Suspend operations that generate strong vibrations nearby or move the position of the laser emitter. 5. Restart the system: Turn off the power of the laser emitter and the leveler, wait for one minute, and then restart to reset the electronic system. 6. Calibration check Manually rotate the transmitter to check if it can provide a stable signal throughout the entire 360-degree range. Use professional tools to check whether the automatic leveling function of the laser emitter is normal. If necessary, send it for repair and calibration. 7. Substitution method test Install the receiver on another confirmed normal level machine for testing. If the problem persists, it indicates that the receiver is faulty. Replace it with a confirmed normal laser emitter. If the problem is solved, the original emitter needs to be repaired. 8. Inspect the cables and connections: Carefully check all the cables from the receiver to the main controller for any signs of compression, wear or breakage, and reinsert all the connectors. 9. Seek professional support: If none of the above steps can solve the problem, it is very likely that there is a hard fault with the electronic components inside the laser or the receiver. At this point, you should immediately contact the after-sales service department of the equipment manufacturer (such as Shandong Wansai Technology) for diagnosis and repair by professional technicians. Do not disassemble the core components by yourself. Regular maintenance: Clean and calibrate the laser transmitter and receiver regularly in accordance with the operation manual. Standard operation: Set up and move the equipment correctly to avoid violent impacts. On-site investigation: Observe the on-site environment before construction, plan the installation position of the laser emitter in advance, and avoid potential interference sources. Backup equipment: For critical projects, it is recommended to prepare backup laser transmitters or receivers to deal with sudden malfunctions.     The commissioning and calibration of a concrete laser leveling machine is crucial for ensuring high-quality flooring (high flatness and levelness). This process requires meticulousness and patience. The following are key details to consider, divided into several key phases: Before beginning any commissioning, thorough preparation is the foundation for safety and success. Mechanical part: Check the leveler's structural parts, hydraulic cylinders, scrapers, and vibrators for damage, looseness, or oil leakage. Ensure that the tracks and tires are intact and free of damage. Hydraulic system: Check that the hydraulic oil level is within the standard range and that the oil is clean. After starting the engine, listen for any abnormal noises coming from the hydraulic pump and motor. Power system: Check whether the fuel, oil, and coolant are sufficient. Ensure that the battery is fully charged and the wiring connections are secure. Stability: Mount the laser transmitter on a solid, stable, vibration-free tripod. Avoid placing it on soft ground or in a location where it may be hit by people or equipment. Position and height: The installation position should cover the entire construction area and be as close to the center as possible to reduce the slight error caused by distance. The height should be raised so that the laser beam is higher than the working range of the receiver on the leveling machine. Leveling: This is the most critical step! Use the laser transmitter's built-in bubble or electronic level to accurately adjust it to a horizontal state (usually in 360° rotation scanning mode). Even a slight tilt will cause the entire working surface to have a slope error. Accuracy selection: Select the appropriate accuracy level according to the construction requirements (for example, ±10mm/@30m or ±3mm/@30m). The higher the accuracy, the higher the debugging requirements. Elevation benchmarks: Verify the on-site elevation benchmarks (usually provided by a surveyor) with the construction crew and double-check them at multiple locations using a handheld laser receiver. Base treatment: Ensure that the flatness and density of the base (usually crushed stone or compacted soil) basically meet the standards, without obvious bumps. This is the core link, the purpose of which is to enable the machine to accurately respond to laser signals. Securely mount the laser receiver on the mast of the leveling machine to prevent it from shaking. Check the receiver's battery level to ensure it is functioning properly. Verify that the indicator lights or display on the receiver are functioning properly. Drive the leveler to the area covered by the laser transmitter signal, preferably close to the transmitter and where the ground elevation is close to the design elevation. Manual mode: Operate the machine to raise or lower the scraper bottom until it is exactly at the designed elevation (which can be verified by measurement). Calibrating the Receiver: At this correct height, adjust the receiver up and down on the mast so that its center point (usually the green light or display "0") is aligned with the laser beam. Locking the reference: Execute "Set reference point", "Reset to zero" or similar operations on the control panel. The control system will remember this height as the "0" position of the laser signal (i.e. the designed elevation). Sensitivity: Sets the hydraulic system's response sensitivity. A setting that's too high will cause the scraper to frequently adjust up and down, creating a "chasing wave" phenomenon that affects smoothness. A setting that's too low will result in a sluggish response and poor accuracy. Usually, start with a mid-range value. Deadband: Set a small allowable error range (such as ±1-2mm). Within this range, the system will not operate to avoid excessive fine-tuning of the hydraulic system and improve construction fluency. After setting the benchmark, do not start pouring immediately. Instead, drive the machine forward, backward, left, and right within the signal range while observing the height display on the control panel. Observe whether the scraper can rise and fall smoothly and accurately according to the instructions. Stop the machine at different points with known elevations, use a ruler or level to actually measure the height of the scraper bottom, and compare it with the designed elevation to verify the height accuracy of the control system.   Commissioning and calibration are not a one-time thing and require continuous monitoring during construction. Every 1-2 hours, or when a collision is suspected, the laser transmitter must be rechecked to ensure it is still in an absolutely horizontal state. Vibrations, wind or accidental contact can cause it to deviate. Regularly use a ruler to spot-check the surface elevation of leveled but not initially set concrete, and cross-verify it with the machine display value. The slump (dryness or thinness) of concrete significantly impacts leveling results. If the material is too dry, the machine will experience significant resistance and may "climb a slope"; if the material is too thin, the machine will easily "get stuck." Maintaining consistent concrete supply quality is crucial. Plan the movement path of the leveler to ensure it is always within the effective coverage of the laser signal and avoid signal blind spots. Lost signal: Once the receiver alarm indicates that the laser signal is lost, construction should be stopped immediately, the cause should be found out (blocked, transmitter power off, out of range, etc.), and the signal should be restored and recalibrated before continuing. Accuracy deviation: If a systematic deviation (overall high or low) is found during spot checks, the machine should be stopped immediately and the laser transmitter level and the leveling machine's reference settings should be rechecked.   Personnel safety: When debugging and running the machine, make sure there is no one around, especially pay attention to the height of the laser beam to avoid direct exposure to human eyes.
